Perinatal U/S Results!

So I got the call from our genetic counsoler regarding our perinatal U/S appointment that I had last week.

The results were fantastic!

For Down Syndrome, before the screening, we were given a 1 in 630 chance that our baby would be born with down syndrom, now after the screening the risk has been lowered to 1 in 5,600.

For Trisomy-18 and Trisomy-21, before the screening, we were given a 1 in 3,000 chance chance that our baby would be born with Trisomy18 or 21, now after the screening the risk has been lowered to 1 in 10,000 chance.

So that is great news just thought I would share! YEAH!

Our FIRST Baby Pictures!!!

So I had my 2nd ultrasound today. Got to SEE the baby finally, since last time it was like the size of a bean or something..it just looked like a blurry spot...NOW it actually looks like a baby. WE have 2 arms and 2 legs...as well as 10 fingers and 10 toes....can you believe you can see that already. I mean the baby is only 2.5 inches long right now. I also got to HEAR the heartbeat again.....searching took little effort...It was a nice 155 beats per minute...I know fast huh? Well they say thats perfectly healthy so I am not worried. AND I got to take home pictures!!!! 11 to be exact.

Baby Bump 10-Weeks

Latest Dr. Appt.

OKAY! so the doctor changed my due date. It is now June 26th! (I know only 2 days sooner) Anyway she says that is the official due date and they won't change it again. Also, I got to hear the baby's heartbeat. It took her a long time to find it though. I was begining to worry that there was no baby in there! She was like its okay, I am patient! Then finally I heard it. A nice healthy fast woosh woosh kinda sound. I was a little bummed Jimmy wasn't able to make it to hear it too. Well, next time! So I go in for another ultrasound next Monday, Dec. 15th...likely still way too early to see if its a boy or girl so we will all have to just keep on waiting! Love to you all! XOXO

DUE DATE!!!

So we arent as far along as we thought. We are 7.5 weeks and our Due Date is June 28th!!!! So we will have an early Summer Baby! Hopefully we will have ultrasound pics that we can post soon. The baby is about 1.5 centimeters long. We were able to see the heart beating! that was pretty neat considering it doesn't even resemble a baby yet! Well...write more soon! XOXO

...so in my last post, I talked about the fact that I was having problems getting in to see a doctor. So I asked a coworker of mine who she goes to, as she is pregnant with #2. I called and got an appointment for Friday 11/7/08. Jimmy left work early to go with me. They confirmed that we ARE pregnant.

We think we may be 8-9 weeks along which looks like a May or June baby! We will have our first ultrasound this week and then we will know for sure, and we will have a due date.

I have been experienceing some morning sickness, but I think I have found what works for me to relieve it, at least a little bit....I just have to eat all day. Lot's of little meals seems to do the trick!

Jimmy "knows" its a boy...and his name will be James Christian Updegraff Hansen II after his daddy. If he is wrong and its a girl, we have a couple of names in mind, but no final decision has been made yet.

pregnant?

So took a test yesterday, and it says we are Pregnant. Put a call into the doctor today to get an appointment. unfortunatley my regular OB/GYN is no longer in private practice so I have been forwarded to another doctor. They say they don't usually see patients until they are at least in their 9th week. What the heck!? I think I am in the 6-8 week stage and they can't see me until the 19th...thats 15 days!!!! IS THIS NORMAL? UGH! Well I will write more later once I know!
